Job Overview

As a vital member of our legal team, you will assist in the preparation of essential legal documents and correspondence related to various client matters. Your role will involve managing deadlines, maintaining case files, and ensuring effective communication with clients and team members.

Compensation:

$30 - $35 DOE

Key Responsibilities:
  • Draft and prepare legal documents and correspondence to support attorneys and paralegals in areas such as estate planning, probate, and business law; ensure timely completion of tasks to meet critical deadlines.
  • Review case files to verify the completeness of documentation; liaise with court personnel and other entities to gather necessary information and confirm accuracy.
  • Manage estate planning case files, including opening, updating, and closing files as required; ensure proper documentation is retained or disposed of according to established protocols.
  • Coordinate signing appointments for estate planning matters; maintain accurate records throughout the lifecycle of each case.
  • Assist attorneys and paralegals in confirming receipt of required documentation from clients and other sources; follow up on outstanding items as needed.
  • Compile final estate planning portfolios, ensuring all documents are complete and compliant with legal standards; assist in client meetings as necessary.
  • Respond to client inquiries regarding case status and procedures, providing support under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Ensure all case matters are settled and files are closed appropriately, returning original documents to clients in a timely manner.
Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Basic knowledge of: Legal office operations, statutory deadlines, legal terminology, and relevant legal databases.

Skills to: Effectively manage multiple tasks, maintain confidentiality, and communicate professionally with clients and colleagues.

Working knowledge of: Business English, clerical procedures, and office technology.
