Job Overview: The Senior Commercial Credit Analyst plays a pivotal role in delivering outstanding support to Commercial Relationship Managers across the organization. This position involves evaluating fundamental commercial and agricultural loan applications, pinpointing strengths and weaknesses, offering insightful recommendations, and documenting any variances from the established Loan Policy.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive and detailed credit analysis while ensuring prompt service to commercial relationship managers.
  • Conduct thorough evaluations of financial statements, including performance ratios, to formulate an initial assessment by identifying the strengths and weaknesses of the borrower's historical operational performance.
  • Prepare an extensive, well-documented analysis of new credit applications, modifications, renewals, and annual relationship assessments.
  • Ensure completeness of all credit files, identify any documentation gaps, and communicate with the Commercial Relationship Manager and other relevant departments for timely resolution.
  • Advise loan officers on expiring lines of credit to prevent renewals from appearing on delinquency lists and assist in timely renewals.
  • Collaborate with Commercial Relationship Managers to anticipate, identify, and gather necessary documents for efficient and timely approvals on both new and existing credits.
  • Participate in client meetings as requested by Relationship Managers, which may involve travel as necessary.
  • Assist the Commercial Credit Manager in managing delinquencies, workouts, collections, and foreclosure processes as needed.
  • Work in conjunction with loan operations, lenders, and other support staff to collect all relevant information required for loan presentations and to monitor the existing portfolio.
  • Gather and maintain industry data; research industry-specific information from external sources, including borrower conversations, industry publications, and credit agencies.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all bank loan products and policies to identify any exceptions.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or accounting, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy; excellent organizational, research, and follow-up skills.
  • Experience in the banking industry is preferred.
