Role Summary:

We are looking for a Credit Center Underwriter who will be responsible for evaluating and making decisions on loans with Total Credit Exposure ranging from $0 to $3 million, ensuring a balance between risk management and growth opportunities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring loan structures comply with bank lending standards and assigning appropriate asset quality ratings.
  • Conducting thorough underwriting processes that align with the risk and size of loan opportunities.
  • Making informed decisions on applications within assigned lending authority in a dynamic, high-volume environment.
  • Collaborating with Business Bankers and Commercial Segment Relationship Managers to provide credit expertise and support throughout the commercial loan origination and review process.

Key Responsibilities:

Loan Underwriting and Decision Making:

  • Evaluate and decide on renewals and new credit requests, focusing on due diligence, risk assessment, and asset quality ratings.
  • Adhere to quality standards set forth in Old National Bank's underwriting guidelines and policies.
  • Meet or exceed productivity expectations for annual credit approval volumes.
  • Make prudent credit decisions that balance risk and growth, utilizing assigned lending authority effectively.
  • Deliver high-quality analysis while maintaining efficiency in a fast-paced environment.

Collaboration with Teams:

  • Provide credit expertise in a consultative manner, assisting in loan structuring while effectively communicating risks and options.
  • Deliver exceptional internal customer service and adapt to new processes and tools as they become available.
  • Enhance knowledge of common loan requests, leveraging internal and external resources.
  • Work closely with teammates to manage application pipelines and complete administrative tasks as needed.
