We are looking for a meticulous and analytical Lead Credit Risk Analyst to become a vital part of our Credit team. The Lead Credit Risk Analyst will assist lenders by assessing the financial health of individuals and businesses seeking credit from the bank. This role typically involves handling larger and more intricate transactions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Gather, evaluate, and interpret loan applications, financial data, appraisals, title insurance, and other relevant information for larger, more complex transactions.
- Support lenders during the closing process.
- Guide and mentor junior Credit Analysts.
- Analyze historical trends within businesses or markets.
- Create spreadsheets, reports, summaries, and recommendations regarding loan structure and pricing for lenders.
- Conduct property assessments to ensure data accuracy.
- Assign risk ratings to facilitate loan requests.
- Prepare annual evaluations of existing loan relationships.
- Develop credit presentations for the approval process, including cash flow analyses, future performance forecasts, industry trends, and loan performance histories.
- Maintain precise records for lending clients and accounts.
- Assist loan and credit department managers with special projects aimed at managing lending risks.
- Stay updated on all relevant software, compliance, and procedures related to the loan department.
- Help lenders foster positive relationships with both new and existing clients by providing timely responses to inquiries and requests.
- Comply with the bank's policies, procedures, security protocols, and government regulations, including but not limited to BSA.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in commercial or industrial underwriting.
- Exceptional analytical and reasoning abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
