Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Executive Commercial Lender to enhance our operations at Northeast Bank, a community-focused institution dedicated to fostering positive change in our neighborhoods. Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee communication among branch commercial loan officers and relevant personnel.
  • Drive business development initiatives and uphold credit quality standards for the branch.
  • Engage in soliciting loans, deposits, cash management, and various financial products.
  • Originate, process, and manage commercial loans effectively.
Primary Duties:
  • Facilitate strong communication with branch lending staff, conduct performance evaluations, and address staffing and employee relations matters.
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to junior team members, including commercial lenders.
  • Identify new business opportunities through outreach to prospects and clients.
  • Build and maintain robust relationships with customers, assisting them in selecting suitable products and services.
  • Evaluate financial information from loan applicants to assess creditworthiness and collaborate with credit analysts for comprehensive financial assessments.
  • Establish loan structures in accordance with policy guidelines and manage commercial loans within designated limits.
  • Administer the credit quality plan for the portfolio with guidance from senior management.
  • Prepare and present detailed loan proposals to the loan committee for approval.
  • Ensure all documentation is complete and meets approval standards.
  • Manage the loan portfolio to ensure timely repayments and address any defaults.
  • Utilize loan reports to monitor past dues and follow up with clients regarding repayment commitments.
  • Collaborate with credit support staff to ensure efficient administration of loan portfolio requirements.
  • Participate in bank committees as assigned, contributing to strategic planning and funds management.
Qualifications:
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance.
  • Prior credit training is essential.
  • Graduate School of Banking and/or MBA is preferred.
Experience:
  • At least 20 years of experience in Commercial Lending.
  • A minimum of 15 years in commercial banking.
  • At least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing commercial lenders.
Skills and Attributes:
  • Proven ability to generate significant loan production annually.
  • Strong skills in interpreting loan documentation and guiding others in documentation processes.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Team-oriented with adaptability in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Portfolio Assistants on key responsibilities.
Performance Metrics:
  • Maintain loan portfolio volumes in line with branch goals.
  • Drive deposit sales and achieve established objectives.
  • Foster a sales culture within the organization.
  • Keep delinquencies below established thresholds.
  • Manage technical exceptions effectively.
  • Maintain classified asset volume within acceptable limits.
  • Ensure loan loss ratios remain at or below established levels.
