Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee communication among all commercial loan officers and relevant personnel.
  • Drive business development goals for the branch while ensuring adherence to credit quality standards.
  • Solicit loans, deposits, cash management services, and additional financial offerings.
  • Originate, process, and manage commercial loans effectively.
Primary Duties:
  • Facilitate strong communication with branch lending teams, conduct performance evaluations, and engage in staffing and employee relations matters.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to junior staff, including commercial lenders.
  • Engage with prospects and clients to generate new business opportunities, encompassing both loans and commercial deposits.
  • Conduct on-site visits to clients, fostering robust relationships and assisting them in identifying beneficial products and services.
  • Interview existing clients and new loan applicants, gather necessary financial data, and assess creditworthiness, providing insights to credit analysts for comprehensive financial evaluations.
  • Establish loan structures in accordance with policy guidelines and manage commercial loans within designated limits.
  • Review and implement the credit quality strategy for the portfolio, collaborating with the Chief Credit Officer and Credit Department Manager.
  • Prepare detailed presentations for loan committee review, ensuring professional and accurate communication.
  • Ensure all documentation is complete and compliant with approval requirements and prudent credit standards.
  • Manage the loan portfolio to ensure timely repayments and address any defaults effectively.
  • Utilize loan reports to monitor delinquencies, maintaining proactive communication with clients regarding repayment commitments.
  • Collaborate with credit support staff to ensure timely administration of technical exceptions related to the loan portfolio.
  • Participate in bank committees as assigned, contributing to loan management, funds management, and strategic planning efforts.
Qualifications:
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance.
  • Completion of concentrated credit training.
  • Graduate School of Banking and/or MBA is preferred.
Experience:
  • At least 20 years of experience in Commercial Lending.
  • A minimum of 15 years in commercial banking.
  • At least 5 years of experience leading a team of commercial lenders.
Skills and Attributes:
  • Proven ability to generate $5-10 million in annual loan production.
  • Strong aptitude for interpreting loan documentation and guiding others in related processes.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Team-oriented with adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work effectively with location Portfolio Assistants on key responsibilities.
Performance Metrics:
  • Maintain loan portfolio volumes in line with established targets.
  • Drive deposit sales and achieve location objectives.
  • Lead the sales culture within the organization at the branch level.
  • Keep delinquencies at or below established thresholds.
  • Ensure technical exceptions are managed within set parameters.
  • Maintain classified asset volume and portfolio risk within acceptable limits.
  • Achieve loan loss ratios below established benchmarks.
