We are currently seeking a Commercial Tax Analyst to become an integral part of our Servicing department. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, organized individual who thrives in a deadline-driven environment. The primary responsibilities include overseeing real estate tax payments and filing UCC statements, thereby mitigating risks associated with investor portfolios. A key aspect of this position is to develop a solid understanding of commercial real estate tax language and to manage assigned portfolios with precision and care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely payment of property taxes for all commercial loans and analyze escrows in accordance with investor and company policies.
  • Verify that all commercial loans have valid UCC statements filed, maintained, and terminated as per investor and company guidelines.
  • Evaluate borrower requests and loan events with guidance from leadership to maintain tax and UCC compliance.
  • Organize and prioritize workload effectively to meet deadlines, focusing on risk and urgency.
  • Identify potential risks for the organization and promptly escalate significant tax and UCC issues, collaborating with leadership to resolve them.
  • Achieve satisfactory resolutions for any instances of tax or UCC non-compliance.
  • Build a strong foundation of expertise in commercial real estate tax and UCC matters.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence on loan documents to ensure accurate loan setup and servicing.
  • Maintain and update servicing system files with precision.
  • Monitor and revise monthly loan reports utilized by investors and management to assess potential risks.
  • Collaborate with other Servicing and Production team members on various projects and issue resolution.
  • Complete additional tasks and projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Real Estate, or equivalent business experience.
  • 1-3 years of office experience, with a preference for commercial real estate exposure.
  • Familiarity with real estate tax and UCC statement terminology.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong customer relationship management skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capability to identify and analyze risks.
  • Problem-solving skills commensurate with the level of responsibility.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Positive attitude in all situations.
  • Understanding of how team functions relate to other areas of Servicing, fostering collaborative work with other personnel.
