Become a Key Player as the Director of Real World Evidence at Vertex

Overview:

In the role of Director of Real World Evidence, you will collaborate closely with the Global Head of Real World Evidence, playing a crucial role in the development of comprehensive evaluations of real world data. Your main objective will be to analyze the natural course of diseases and real world outcomes within Vertex's clinical and early development portfolio. This position will require you to shape global observational research initiatives that will guide development and regulatory strategies, providing essential insights to regulators, healthcare professionals, payers, and other key stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a dedicated team focused on Real World Evidence across various disease areas
  • Identify research deficiencies and establish goals for epidemiological and observational research strategies
  • Effectively convey RWE strategic narratives to a wide-ranging audience
  • Engage with both internal and external partners to advance research objectives
  • Collaborate with Global Clinical Development to set up historical controls using real world data
  • Innovate RWE study methodologies in accordance with regulatory standards
  • Spot opportunities for research projects across different disease areas
  • Design and implement multiple observational studies utilizing RWE
  • Ensure adherence to established study conduct standards and processes
  • Enhance processes for improved quality, cost-effectiveness, and efficiency
  • Leverage RWE capabilities across diverse projects
  • Track performance metrics and dashboards related to RWE initiatives
  • Evaluate real world data assets and formulate data generation strategies
  • Forge key research partnerships to address identified research gaps
  • Exhibit proficiency in real world data sources and their relevance for research

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • PhD in epidemiology, biostatistics, health economics, or a related discipline
  • Advanced training in Epidemiology or Health Services Research
  • A minimum of 12 years of experience in observational research and data analysis
  • Previous experience in managing and supervising teams
