Job Description:The Commonwealth of Virginia is committed to fostering educational and workforce development opportunities. This part-time role is designed to identify, develop, and coordinate training programs that equip candidates to fulfill the workforce demands of local businesses in the realms of business and information technology. The Program Coordinator for Business and IT Initiatives will oversee the Workforce Solutions training programs, which include both Open Enrollment and Customized Training. Responsibilities include budget oversight, procurement of materials and supplies, course design and scheduling, management of classroom resources, and ensuring program accreditation as necessary.
The incumbent will be tasked with identifying and responding to requests for tailored training solutions in business and IT. This involves conducting business needs assessments, performing research and analysis to pinpoint potential open enrollment courses, and developing course proposals for approval.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate instructional staff and oversee certification programs to ensure compliance with established guidelines.
- Engage proactively with both internal and external stakeholders to plan, develop, and deliver effective training programs.
- Utilize knowledge of adult education principles, development, and evaluation techniques to enhance learning outcomes.
- Monitor program expenditures to ensure alignment with the operating budget.
- Collaborate regularly with leadership to review budget reports and forecast future financial needs.
Required Qualifications:
- Proficient in conducting research on business trends and identifying training opportunities.
- Skilled in making oral and written presentations and developing training proposals.
- Experience in managing projects, including setting deadlines and tracking progress.
- Ability to create high-quality course content in Business and Information Technology.
- Competent in interpreting and applying policies effectively.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within diverse teams.
- Capable of coordinating staffing needs and program requirements.
