**Sales Strategy and Planning**

  • Gaining insights into the business operations of accounts in your territory and customizing sales presentations and proposals to meet specific client needs.
  • Overseeing territory profitability by analyzing compensation margins and optimizing product selection and pricing strategies.
  • Developing a weekly schedule of client visits to ensure thorough coverage based on industry, geography, and account potential.

**Sales Implementation**

  • Engaging with both existing and prospective clients to identify their needs and recommend suitable products aligned with the company’s business units.
  • Meeting the required number of client interactions daily based on territory demands.
  • Physically visiting and servicing current and potential clients.
  • Selecting appropriate processes and materials to address customer cleaning, sanitation, or surface treatment challenges.
  • Delivering compelling sales presentations, both verbally and in writing.
  • Responding to client inquiries regarding product applications.
  • Providing pricing estimates and delivery policies within established guidelines, pending approval.
  • Achieving sales targets by acquiring new clients, boosting sales to existing clients, and renewing contracts.

**Client Relationship Management**

  • Building and nurturing strong business relationships with clients.
  • Maintaining regular communication with clients regarding their service needs.
  • Sharing information about new products, techniques, and safety protocols.
  • Educating clients on the proper and safe use of BASF materials.

**Documentation and Reporting**

  • Keeping accurate records of activities in the territory as required by management for successful performance.
  • Reporting competitive activities that may influence sales within the territory.
  • Preparing and submitting various reports, including call reports and service reports, as necessary.
  • Ensuring that reports are forwarded to the appropriate business unit for customer file updates.

**Sales Support Initiatives**

  • Enhancing technical knowledge of BASF materials through self-directed learning and participation in relevant professional organizations.
  • Collaborating with other sales representatives, technical support staff, and application engineers during team selling efforts.
  • Requesting product samples in accordance with company policies.
  • Handling company materials and equipment with appropriate care.
  • Operating the company vehicle safely and ensuring it is maintained in good working condition.

**Ideal Candidate Profile:**

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Engineering, or Business is essential.
  • A minimum of 2 years of B2B sales experience is required, with a preference for candidates with prior experience in chemical sales.
  • Experience in B2B/outside industrial sales, particularly in specialty chemical sales (metalworking or surface treatment), is preferred.
  • Ability to deliver sales presentations and follow up with written proposals while managing customer contracts.
  • Strong organizational skills for effective sales planning and territory management.
  • A proactive approach to acquiring new clients and identifying upselling opportunities.
  • Proficient in building and strengthening customer relationships.
  • Technical consulting skills related to products and processes; willingness to learn about BASF’s product offerings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50-75% for this role.
  • A valid driver’s license in good standing is required as a company vehicle will be provided.
