Where Innovation Meets Opportunity:

This Sales Engineer position represents RPMGlobal by engaging with both established and potential clients within a designated region to promote and sell advanced surface treatment solutions. The individual will deliver comprehensive sales and service to ensure optimal product performance while maximizing profitability within their assigned area.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy and Planning:

Utilizes insights into the business operations of accounts in the territory to customize sales presentations and proposals that address specific client needs. Monitors territory profitability by analyzing compensation margins and enhancing margins through strategic product selection and pricing. Ensures that the technology offered within the territory reinforces the company's competitive edge.

Develops a structured weekly schedule of client visits to optimize time management and ensure thorough coverage by industry, geography, and account potential.

Sales Execution:

Engages with both existing and prospective clients to assess their requirements and recommend suitable products from the company's offerings. Maintains a consistent number of client interactions per day as dictated by territory demands. Must be capable of physically visiting and servicing clients.

Identifies the appropriate processes and materials to address client cleaning, sanitation, or surface treatment challenges. Conducts sales presentations effectively, both verbally and in writing, and addresses client inquiries regarding product usage.

Provides pricing estimates and delivery information within established guidelines, subject to necessary approvals. Achieves sales targets by acquiring new clients, increasing sales to current clients, and renewing orders.

Client Relationship Management:

Fosters strong business relationships with clients by maintaining regular contact regarding their service needs. Shares information on new products, methodologies, and general safety and disposal practices. Trains clients to ensure the proper and safe use of RPMGlobal materials.

Documentation and Reporting:

Keeps detailed records of activities within the territory as required by management, ensuring successful performance. Reports competitive actions that may influence sales within the territory. Prepares and submits necessary reports, including call reports and service reports, to the appropriate business unit.

Sales Support Initiatives:

Enhances technical knowledge of RPMGlobal products through self-directed learning and participation in professional organizations. Collaborates in team selling efforts alongside other sales representatives and technical support staff. Requests product samples in accordance with company policy and handles company materials and equipment with care.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Engineering, or Business is required. A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is necessary, with a preference for B2B or outside industrial sales experience in specialty chemicals.

Demonstrated ability to deliver effective sales presentations, follow up with written proposals, and manage client contracts. Strong organizational skills for sales planning and territory management are essential, along with a proactive approach to client acquisition and ongoing sales opportunities.

Ability to build and strengthen client relationships, coupled with technical consulting skills regarding products and processes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are crucial. This role may require travel up to 50-60% of the time.

A valid driver's license in good standing is required as a company vehicle will be provided.
