Bilingual Receptionist

We are seeking a dedicated bilingual (Spanish/English) Receptionist who is enthusiastic about providing support to students, families, and staff within a bilingual educational setting. Our team members demonstrate a positive attitude, compassion, and a commitment to fostering a love for learning.

The Latin American Montessori Bilingual Public Charter School (LAMB) offers a distinctive approach to bilingual Montessori public education, catering to diverse urban families. We serve children from PK3 through 5th grade, creating a community that prioritizes peace and equity for all.

Position Summary:

The Bilingual Receptionist serves as the welcoming face of LAMB's facility, ensuring a friendly and inviting environment for students, staff, parents, and visitors. This role also involves performing various administrative tasks to support the school’s operations. The working hours for this position are from 9:45 am to 6:00 pm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service to parents, staff, students, and visitors in both English and Spanish through in-person interactions, phone calls, and emails in a dynamic front desk environment.
  • Greet visitors, manage the visitor sign-in process, and guide parents, volunteers, and guests as needed.
  • Participate in the school's safety initiatives by staying informed about events, drills, and visitors in the building.
  • Respond to phone inquiries by providing general information or directing calls as necessary.
  • Perform a variety of clerical duties, including scheduling and maintaining records of school activities, managing supplies, photocopying, typing, and data entry.
  • Collect payments for lunch, field trips, and other school-related activities from parents.
  • Ensure that office supplies are adequately stocked.
  • Receive and distribute incoming mail and assist in preparing outgoing communications for students when required.
  • Handle the intake and follow-up for late arrivals and early dismissals.
  • Manage the dismissal of BASE students using the designated communication platform.
  • Support the health room for students and address both emergency and non-emergency situations as they arise.
  • Process requests for Kids Ride Free Smartrip cards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a similar role.
  • Bilingual with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Spanish and English.
  • Ability to thrive in a multicultural, bilingual environment.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and computer skills (proficiency in Google Workspace).
  • Capable of multitasking, prioritizing tasks, and working collaboratively.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and sensitivity regarding parent, staff, and student information.
  • Experience in an educational setting is preferred.

Compensation:

The salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience, ranging from $40,000 to $55,000.
