The Systems Fault Analysis Engineer will contribute to the operations of a prominent aerospace contract.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Comprehends intricate systems, including potential failure modes and their interactions.
  • Applies best practices in model-based systems engineering to create system models.
  • Proficient in FMEAs, FMECAs, fault trees, and other fault management design and analysis methodologies.
  • Possesses some software development experience.
  • Undertakes additional tasks as required.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

This position may be filled at various levels based on the candidate's qualifications and organizational needs.

  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status is required due to the nature of sensitive information.
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is necessary.
  • Experience with FMEAs, FMECAs, fault trees, or similar fault management tools is essential.
  • Familiarity with SysML, UML, or other formal system modeling techniques is required.
  • Experience in modeling complex cyber-physical systems is advantageous.
  • Knowledge in one or more of the following areas is preferred:
    • Risk assessments
    • Fault/failure analysis
    • Redundancy and fault tolerance
    • System health management techniques, prognosis, or fault management frameworks.
  • Strong background in dynamics is essential.
  • Experience with both mechanical and electrical systems is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in avionics and software architecture.
  • Familiarity with NASA software and systems development standards.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming.
  • Experience with Linux operating systems.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python is a plus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • This role is primarily onsite.
  • Offers a 9/80 work schedule with every other Friday off.
  • Some travel may be required.

BACKGROUND CHECKS:

All employees must successfully complete a national agency check, with some positions requiring a security clearance and an extensive background verification process.


DRUG AND ALCOHOL SCREENING:

All employees must pass a pre-employment drug screening; certain contracts may necessitate participation in random drug and alcohol testing programs.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • Team collaboration is essential for all employees.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with internal and external stakeholders are necessary.

  • A strong work ethic and commitment to safety culture are vital.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills are required.
  • Work may involve both office and field environments, depending on the task.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods is necessary.
  • May require lifting and carrying items up to 25 lbs occasionally.
  • Regular attendance according to an established schedule is critical.
  • Flexibility to adjust work hours to meet peak demands is required.
