Key Responsibilities

THE SYSTEMS FAULT ANALYSIS ENGINEER WILL:

  • Comprehend intricate systems, including failure modes and their interfaces.
  • Utilize model-based systems engineering best practices to develop system models.
  • Possess experience with FMEAs, FMECAs, fault trees, or other fault management design and analysis methodologies.
  • Have some software experience.
  • Execute additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering is required, along with a minimum of 2+ years of experience in the field or a related area. Familiarity with SysML, UML, or other formal system modeling techniques is essential.
  • Experience in modeling complex cyber-physical systems is preferred.

Experience with one or more of the following:

  • Risk assessments.
  • Fault/failure analysis.
  • Redundancy and fault tolerance.
  • System health management techniques, prognosis, or fault management frameworks or technologies.
  • A strong background in dynamics.
  • Experience with mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and coordination skills, along with a strong customer service orientation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of avionics and software architecture.
  • Familiarity with NASA software and systems development standards.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ coding.
  • Proficiency in Linux.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python.
Proof of U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residency may be a requirement for this position.
Completion of a U.S. government background investigation may be necessary.
