Key Responsibilities
The Fault Management Systems Engineer will:
- Comprehend intricate systems, including their failure modes and interfaces.
- Implement model-based systems engineering best practices to develop system models.
- Utilize experience with FMEAs, FMECAs, fault trees, or other fault management design and analysis tools, along with some software proficiency.
- Execute additional responsibilities as required.
Qualifications
Required:
- A bachelor's degree in engineering and a minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience in the field or a related area. Familiarity with SysML, UML, or other formal system modeling techniques is essential.
Experience with modeling complex cyber-physical systems is preferred, along with expertise in one or more of the following:
- Risk assessments.
- Fault/failure analysis.
- Redundancy and fault tolerance.
- System health management techniques, prognosis, or fault management frameworks or technologies.
- A strong background in dynamics.
- Experience with mechanical and electrical systems.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and coordination skills, along with a strong customer service orientation.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of avionics and software architecture.
- Familiarity with NASA software and systems development standards.
- Proficiency in C/C++ coding.
- Proficiency in Linux.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python.
Proof of U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residency may be a requirement for this position. Candidates must be able to pass a U.S. government background investigation.
