Key Responsibilities
The Fault Management Systems Engineer will:

  • Comprehend intricate systems, including their failure modes and interfaces.
  • Utilize model-based systems engineering best practices to develop system models.
  • Possess experience with FMEAs, FMECAs, fault trees, or other fault management design and analysis tools, along with some software experience.
  • Execute additional duties as required.

Qualifications
Required:

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering and a minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience in the field or a related area. Familiarity with SysML, UML, or other formal system modeling techniques is essential.

Experience with modeling complex cyber-physical systems is crucial. Familiarity with one or more of the following is preferred:

  • Risk assessments.
  • Fault/failure analysis.
  • Redundancy and fault tolerance.
  • System health management techniques, prognosis, or fault management frameworks or technologies.
  • A strong background in dynamics.
  • Experience with mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, coordination skills, and a strong customer service orientation.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of avionics and software architecture.
  • Familiarity with NASA software and systems development standards.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ coding.
  • Proficiency in Linux.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python.

U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency may be a requirement for this position. Candidates must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
