Overview

The individual in this role will assist in the interpretation of payroll regulations for a large workforce within the Maintenance & Operations sector. Key responsibilities encompass: providing guidance to personnel through various communication channels, reviewing timesheets and payroll reports, executing timekeeping tasks for a designated group of employees, and supporting internal asset management systems.

Core Responsibilities

The following are essential functions common to all roles within this classification. This list is not exhaustive and employees may perform similar duties not specifically outlined here. Evaluates and verifies financial transactions and records for accuracy while ensuring compliance with budgetary constraints, agreements, grants, or contracts, as well as relevant laws and regulations. Consolidates and reconciles data to the general ledger from various financial documents; prepares trial balances and implements necessary corrections to maintain fiscal balance while ensuring an audit trail. Reviews financial classifications and codes for accuracy and suggests necessary modifications. Upholds internal controls and applies established accounting principles and standards. Offers expert advice and technical support on assigned fiscal responsibilities. Compiles and analyzes a variety of financial statements and reports that inform financial, budgetary, and personnel planning. Conducts research and provides documentation to auditors and other entities requesting financial information. Utilizes automated information systems and software to analyze and report on financial data. Delivers exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders through various communication methods. Engages effectively with diverse individuals across different cultures, abilities, genders, ethnicities, ages, and races. May oversee purchasing, disbursement, and inventory management of supplies and equipment.

Position Requirements

Requirements for Financial Analyst I Candidates must demonstrate competence in the following areas: One year of experience in processing accounting, auditing, or payroll transactions in accordance with applicable regulations and standards. OR

Six months of experience in auditing, examining, preparing, analyzing, or reconciling financial accounts while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. OR

An Associate's degree or higher in Accounting or a related discipline. Requirements for Financial Analyst II Candidates must demonstrate competence in the following areas: One year of experience in compiling, analyzing, and reporting financial data to ensure effective fund management and financial forecasting. One year of experience ensuring compliance of financial transactions with budgets, agreements, grants, or contracts, and relevant laws and regulations. Six months of experience in researching and analyzing financial transactions to resolve discrepancies and maintain an audit trail. Coursework or experience in supervising staff, which may include leading a team.

Hiring Conditions
