Overview

The individual in this role will assist in the interpretation of payroll policies for a large workforce within the Maintenance & Operations division. Key responsibilities include: supporting employees through various communication channels by clarifying payroll policies, auditing timesheets and payroll reports, managing timekeeping for a designated group of full-time and seasonal employees, and aiding in the management of internal asset systems.

Core Responsibilities

The following functions are essential and represent the core duties associated with this position. This list is not exhaustive and may include additional related tasks: Evaluates and verifies financial transactions and records for accuracy while ensuring compliance with agency budgets, agreements, grants, and relevant laws and regulations. Consolidates and reconciles data to the general ledger from various financial documents; prepares trial balances and implements necessary corrections to maintain balanced funds while ensuring an audit trail is preserved. Reviews financial transactions and classifications to confirm accuracy and suggests necessary modifications. Upholds internal controls and applies established accounting principles and standards. Offers advice and technical support on assigned fiscal responsibilities. Compiles and analyzes a variety of financial statements and reports that are crucial for budgetary and personnel planning. Conducts research and provides necessary data and documentation to auditors and for other financial inquiries. Utilizes automated information systems and software to analyze and report on financial data. Ensures high-quality customer service to both internal and external stakeholders through various communication methods. Engages effectively with diverse individuals across different cultures, abilities, genders, ethnicities, ages, and races. May handle purchasing, disbursement, and inventory management of supplies and equipment.

Job Qualifications for Fiscal Advisor I

Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in the following areas: One year of experience in processing accounting, auditing, or payroll transactions in accordance with applicable regulations and standards. OR

Six months of experience in auditing, preparing, analyzing, or reconciling financial accounts while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. OR

An Associate's degree or higher in Accounting or a related discipline. Job Qualifications for Fiscal Advisor II Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in the following areas: One year of experience in compiling, analyzing, and reporting financial data to ensure effective accounting of funds or to facilitate financial planning. One year of experience ensuring compliance of financial transactions with budgets, agreements, grants, and applicable laws. Six months of experience in researching and analyzing financial transactions to resolve discrepancies and maintain an audit trail. Relevant coursework, training, or experience in staff supervision, which may include leading and overseeing the work of others.

Employment Conditions

Pre-employment drug testing is required upon a conditional offer. A satisfactory criminal background check is also a condition of hire.
