Introduction

Overview

Elevate your career in the realm of government vehicle management with a leading Fleet organization. The Fleet Equipment Manager will oversee a diverse fleet of over 500 specialty vehicles, which includes the procurement, coordination, and deployment of various vehicle types such as Facility Maintenance Vehicles (e.g., snow removal equipment, utility trucks), law enforcement vehicles (e.g., emergency lights, equipment mounts), and Medical Examiner transport vehicles (e.g., specialized storage and lighting). The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of aftermarket automotive equipment, exhibit proactive problem-solving skills, and possess excellent communication abilities to liaise with mission-driven organizations.

Key Responsibilities

The following responsibilities are essential functions that are common across all positions in this classification and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties for any one position.

  • Conduct interviews with agency personnel, observe operational workflows, and collect data related to management practices for evaluating service delivery and compliance with established objectives.
  • Perform statistical analysis and interpretation of data concerning policies, procedures, and operational practices; identify issues and propose corrective actions.
  • Analyze collected data to develop solutions or alternative strategies for improvement.
  • Assess the effectiveness of operations in achieving set goals and objectives.
  • Provide technical guidance in formulating management objectives and controls to address issues and concerns.
  • Review relevant background materials such as legislation and administrative regulations.
  • Recommend and assist in implementing innovative techniques or procedures to enhance operational methods, strengthen controls, and optimize resource utilization.
  • Document findings from studies and prepare recommendations for the adoption of new systems, procedures, or organizational adjustments.
  • May oversee administrative support and/or paraprofessional staff, including planning, assigning, reviewing, and evaluating work, as well as coaching and training.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications for Fleet Management Analyst II

  • Minimum of six months of experience in conducting operational studies, including evaluating programs and services for efficiency and compliance with regulations.
  • At least six months of experience in descriptive statistics, including mean, median, mode, or standard deviation.
  • Six months of experience interpreting laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Six months of experience in writing narrative reports.
  • Knowledge of study design, including defining objectives, identifying data needs, and determining collection methods.
  • Familiarity with making recommendations for operational changes based on analytical findings.
  • Understanding of inferential statistics, including correlation and analysis of variance.
