Overview

The Fleet Management Analyst will oversee a diverse array of over 500 specialty vehicles, including but not limited to, maintenance vehicles, law enforcement units, and specialized medical transport trucks. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of aftermarket automotive solutions, a proactive mindset, and exceptional communication skills to collaborate effectively with various mission-driven organizations.

Key Responsibilities

The following responsibilities are essential and represent core functions common to all positions within this classification. This list is not exhaustive and incumbents may perform similar duties not specifically outlined here.

  • Conduct interviews with agency personnel, observe operational workflows, and collect data related to management practices and procedures to evaluate service delivery and compliance with established objectives.
  • Perform statistical analysis and interpret data concerning policies, procedures, and operational practices; identify issues and propose corrective measures.
  • Analyze collected data to formulate solutions or alternative strategies for improvement.
  • Assess the effectiveness of operations in achieving set goals and objectives.
  • Provide expert guidance in developing management objectives and controls to address issues and concerns.
  • Review relevant background materials, including legislation and administrative regulations.
  • Recommend and assist in implementing innovative techniques or procedures to enhance operational methods, strengthen controls, and optimize resource utilization.
  • Document study findings and prepare recommendations for the implementation of new systems, procedures, or organizational adjustments.
  • May oversee administrative support and/or paraprofessional staff, exercising supervision over at least two full-time positions as per established merit rules. This includes planning, assigning, reviewing, evaluating, coaching, training, and making recommendations regarding hiring, disciplinary actions, and terminations.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications for Fleet Management Analyst II

Candidates must demonstrate education, training, and/or experience in the following areas:

  • A minimum of six months of experience conducting studies that evaluate operations, programs, services, policies, and procedures for efficiency and compliance with regulations.
  • At least six months of experience in descriptive statistics, including mean, median, mode, or standard deviation.
  • Six months of experience interpreting laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Six months of experience in writing narrative reports.
  • Knowledge of study design, including setting goals, identifying information needs, data sources, and collection methods.
  • Knowledge of making recommendations for operational changes based on study findings.
  • Familiarity with inferential statistics, including correlation, t-tests, f-tests, or analysis of variance.
