Position Overview

Block Renovation is at the forefront of revolutionizing the $450 billion renovation sector. Our goal is to empower countless homeowners to design their dream spaces while enabling numerous contractors to flourish in their businesses. We are making significant strides, providing services nationwide through our innovative technology platform and extensive contractor network.

We are in search of a dedicated Head of SEO Strategy to spearhead and cultivate Block's organic growth. This role will involve developing and implementing our SEO strategy from inception. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this individual will oversee both content and technical SEO initiatives, working closely with teams across Product, Engineering, Brand, Creative, Analytics, and Performance Marketing to establish a premier SEO framework. A deep dive into the home renovation market will be essential to grasp trends in organic search, pinpoint valuable demand areas, and create high-performing content and web pages to attract this demand to Block.

The ideal candidate will thrive in an environment that allows for autonomy in tackling complex challenges, crafting solutions, and iterating towards impactful business and user outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and refine Block's SEO strategy and roadmap in collaboration with leadership.
  • Analyze and interpret organic search landscapes within our sector to uncover significant opportunities for driving high-value traffic.
  • Implement bold initiatives to enhance search performance, leveraging Block's proprietary data, insights, and content.
  • Execute the SEO roadmap in a swift, iterative manner, emphasizing experimentation and learning.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to ensure our website remains technically optimized for search performance.
  • Stay informed and adapt to the changing search landscape, including the influence of AI and ongoing algorithm updates.

Qualifications:

  • 7-15 years of experience in SEO, particularly in B2C environments.
  • Proficiency in both content and technical SEO.
  • A strong passion for understanding consumer behavior and crafting user-centric experiences.
  • A drive to tackle complex problems, experiment, and build iteratively.
  • Exceptional collaboration skills, particularly with product and engineering teams on technical search performance aspects.
  • A balanced approach to strategic thinking and hands-on execution.

This is a full-time role reporting to the Chief Operating Officer. We value a hybrid work schedule.

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package, with an expected annual salary range of $125,000 - $200,000, depending on various factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
