Patient Service Representative

Spectrum Healthcare Partners is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to join our team. As a key member of our front office staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our patients and healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities- Front Office Operations: Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, ensuring accurate and timely registration information.
- Payment Collection: Collect copays and outstanding balances from patients, and perform daily payment reconciliation.
- Communication: Answer internal and external calls, and utilize electronic health records for messaging with clinical staff.
- Scheduling: Enter patient information into our practice management system, schedule appointments, and secure authorization when required by insurance.
- Pre-Authorization: Manage ongoing authorizations for future visits, and perform pre-authorization tasks as directed by physicians or advanced practice providers.
- Document Management: Scan medical documentation and other required documents into electronic health records or document imaging systems.
- Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance information to ensure accurate billing.
- Team Collaboration: Maintain open communication with clinical staff to minimize interruptions to provider schedules.
- Education: High school degree or equivalent.
- Experience: Previous experience in a medical office or similar role in a healthcare organization is highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong customer service skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
This role requires the ability to operate various office equipment, lift light materials, and sit or stand for extended periods. Occasional travel between company locations may be required.
