Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate Quality Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to patients, their families, and support staff, ensuring all nutritional needs are met.
  • Coordinate Meal Service: Work closely with patient caregivers to coordinate meal delivery, resolve issues, and provide prompt intervention.
  • Deliver and Pick Up Meal Trays: Safely transport and retrieve meal trays to and from patient rooms.
  • Assist with Nutrition-Related Tasks: Support other nutrition-related duties as needed, ensuring seamless operations within the department.
Requirements
  • Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred to compare menus to physicians' orders and review menus with patients.
  • Experience: Approximately 1-6 months' on-the-job experience necessary to gain understanding of meal preparation, nutritional value, and hospital policies.
  • Skills: Basic computer skills, ability to navigate multiple applications, and proficiency in Microsoft Word and internet navigation.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Effective communication with Nursing staff, department personnel, and patients.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to ensure patient meals comply with physicians' orders.
