Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Coordinator to join our team at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing wide-ranging support for the HR function, including coordinating HR activities, facilitating recruitment and onboarding, and coordinating rewards and recognition, diversity and inclusion, performance management, and compensation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate HR activities, including responding to inquiries, facilitating recruitment and onboarding, and coordinating rewards and recognition, diversity and inclusion, performance management, and compensation.
  • Provide administrative support to the HR team, including preparing reports, maintaining records, and performing other administrative tasks as needed.
  • Develop and implement HR programs and initiatives to support the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination of HR-related activities.
  • Manage a high volume of work, remaining flexible as situations demand without sacrificing quality.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • At least two years of human resources experience.
  • General knowledge of the HR function, including employment law, recruitment, employee relations, compensation, and onboarding.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to distill, interpret, and convey complicated administrative processes both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Tact, diplomacy, and discretion with confidential information.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with HR and payroll systems (e.g., SAP, Brio, Kronos) and FileMaker Pro.
  • Experience at MIT or in higher education.
