Position Overview:

We are in search of a dedicated and experienced Driver Manager to lead our driving team’s daily operations. The successful candidate will be tasked with overseeing driver functions, ensuring punctual and effective pick-ups and deliveries, facilitating training and development, and refining route planning to boost operational productivity. This position demands exceptional leadership abilities, organizational acumen, and a strong commitment to upholding safety and performance standards.

Driver Operations Oversight:

- Supervise daily driver activities to ensure compliance with schedules, routes, and organizational policies.

- Evaluate and manage driver performance, offering constructive feedback and support to maintain high service and safety standards.

- Address operational challenges and resolve driver inquiries in a timely manner.

Logistics Coordination:

- Organize and assign driver tasks for prompt and efficient pick-ups and deliveries.

- Ensure adherence to company protocols for all pick-up operations.

- Monitor and report on pick-up efficiency, addressing any delays or issues as they occur.

Training and Development Initiatives:

- Create and implement training programs for both new and existing drivers, emphasizing safety, compliance, and customer service excellence.

- Conduct regular performance evaluations and identify opportunities for improvement.

- Stay informed on industry best practices and regulatory updates to enhance training programs.

Route Planning and Optimization:

- Assess and design optimal routes to enhance efficiency while minimizing fuel consumption and delivery times.

- Utilize routing software and GPS technology to monitor routes and make necessary adjustments.

- Collaborate with the logistics team to resolve any route-related issues.

Safety and Regulatory Compliance:

- Ensure all drivers comply with safety regulations and company policies, including vehicle maintenance and inspection standards.

- Maintain precise records of driver hours, vehicle inspections, and compliance documentation.

- Conduct investigations into incidents and implement corrective measures as needed.

Reporting and Documentation:

- Prepare and deliver regular reports on driver performance, operational efficiency, and compliance metrics.

- Keep accurate records related to driver performance, training, and route management.

- Provide insights and recommendations to enhance overall transportation operations.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transportation Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.

- Proven experience as a Driver Manager or in a comparable role within the transportation sector.

- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.

- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

- Proficiency in route optimization software, GPS systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.

- Ability to perform under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and make informed decisions.

Work Environment:

- This role may involve occasional travel to meet with drivers and inspect vehicles.

- The position entails working in both an office setting and on-site at various locations.
