Position Overview:

We are in search of a dedicated and experienced Driver Manager to oversee the daily functions of our driving personnel. The successful candidate will be tasked with managing driver operations, ensuring prompt and effective pick-ups and deliveries, facilitating training and development, and enhancing route planning for improved operational productivity. Driver Operations Oversight:

- Supervise daily driver activities to ensure compliance with schedules, routes, and organizational policies.

- Evaluate and manage driver performance, offering constructive feedback and support to maintain high service and safety standards.

- Address operational challenges and resolve driver inquiries swiftly.

Pick-Up and Delivery Coordination:

- Organize and assign driver tasks for timely and effective pick-ups and deliveries.

- Ensure all pick-ups are executed in accordance with company protocols.

- Monitor and report on pick-up efficiency, addressing any delays or complications as they occur.

Training and Development Initiatives:

- Create and implement training programs for both new and existing drivers, emphasizing safety, compliance, and customer service excellence.

- Conduct regular performance evaluations and identify opportunities for enhancement.

- Stay informed on industry standards and regulatory updates to integrate into training sessions.

Route Planning and Optimization:

- Assess and design optimal routes to maximize efficiency while minimizing fuel consumption and delivery durations.

- Utilize routing software and GPS technology to oversee routes and make necessary adjustments.

- Collaborate with the logistics team to tackle any route-related issues.

Safety and Regulatory Compliance:

- Ensure all drivers comply with safety regulations and organizational policies, including vehicle maintenance and inspection protocols.

- Maintain precise records of driver hours, vehicle inspections, and compliance documentation.

- Manage incident investigations and implement corrective measures as required.

Reporting and Record Keeping:

- Prepare and deliver regular reports on driver performance, operational efficiency, and compliance metrics.

- Keep accurate records related to driver performance, training, and route management.

- Provide insights and recommendations to enhance overall transportation operations.

Qualifications:

- A Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline is preferred.

- Demonstrated experience as a Driver Manager or in a comparable role within the transportation sector.

- Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, safety protocols, and industry best practices.

- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

- Proficiency in route optimization software, GPS systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.

- Ability to thrive under pressure, manage multiple responsibilities, and make informed decisions.

Work Environment:

- This role may necessitate occasional travel to engage with drivers and inspect vehicles.
