Position Overview:

We are in search of a proactive and skilled Driver Manager to lead our driving team’s daily operations. The successful candidate will be tasked with overseeing driver functions, ensuring prompt and effective pick-ups and deliveries, facilitating training and skill enhancement, and refining route strategies to boost operational productivity. This position demands exceptional leadership, organizational abilities, and a dedication to upholding safety and performance excellence.

Driver Operations Oversight:

- Supervise daily driver activities to guarantee compliance with schedules, routes, and organizational policies.

- Evaluate and manage driver performance, offering constructive feedback and assistance to maintain service and safety standards.

- Address operational challenges and resolve driver issues in a timely manner.

Pick-Up and Delivery Coordination:

- Organize and assign driver tasks for prompt and effective pick-ups and deliveries.

- Ensure adherence to company protocols for all pick-up operations.

- Monitor and report on pick-up performance, proactively addressing any delays or complications.

Training and Skill Development:

- Create and execute training initiatives for both new and existing drivers, emphasizing safety, compliance, and customer service excellence.

- Conduct regular performance evaluations and identify opportunities for enhancement.

- Stay informed on industry standards and regulatory updates to integrate into training sessions.

Route Efficiency:

- Assess and devise optimal routes to enhance efficiency while minimizing fuel usage and delivery times.

- Utilize routing software and GPS technology to oversee routes and implement necessary adjustments.

- Collaborate with the logistics team to tackle any route-related issues.

Safety and Regulatory Compliance:

- Ensure all drivers comply with safety regulations and organizational policies, including vehicle maintenance and inspection requirements.

- Maintain precise records of driver hours, vehicle inspections, and compliance documentation.

- Manage incident investigations and enforce corrective measures as needed.

Reporting and Record Keeping:

- Generate and present regular reports on driver performance, operational effectiveness, and compliance.

- Keep accurate documentation related to driver performance, training, and route management.

- Provide insights and recommendations to enhance overall transportation operations.

Qualifications:

- A Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline is preferred.

- Demonstrated experience as a Driver Manager or in a comparable role within the transportation sector.

- Comprehensive understanding of transportation regulations, safety protocols, and industry best practices.

- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

- Proficiency in route optimization software, GPS systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.

- Capability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and make informed decisions.

Work Environment:

- This role may involve occasional travel to engage with drivers and assess vehicles.

- The position encompasses both office work and on-site activities at various locations.
