About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Electrical Engineer to join our team at Safeguard Global Recruiting. As a Marine Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing electrical systems for marine vessels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Serve as the Engineer of Record (EoR) for assigned projects, overseeing the planning, design, and implementation of electrical systems for marine vessels.
  • Design and Development: Create technical documents, one-line diagrams, and electrical drawings to explain and summarize technical issues, ship capabilities, and change history.
  • Power System Studies: Perform load flow, short circuit, breaker and relay coordination, and arc flash studies to ensure electrical systems meet safety and regulatory standards.
  • Component Selection: Design and specify components for communication systems, control systems, electrical distribution, and utilization systems.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other engineers, design drafters, and project managers to produce engineering design documents and diagrams.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical expertise and mentorship to other engineers, electricians, and supervisors via knowledge transfer and training.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure design compliance with all specifications and requirements documents.
Requirements
  • Experience: Over 6 years of experience in working on marine electrical projects onboard floating vessels.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong technical knowledge of electrical circuits, generator systems, automation, and marine mechanical systems.
  • Leadership Skills: Good leadership skills and ability to give strong attention to details.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred but not required.
