Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Engine Technician to join our team at Motor Services Hugo Stamp and Pacific Power Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing marine engines, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our vessels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostic tests to determine unit condition and identify deficiencies.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues and verify performance through sea trials and necessary adjustments.
  • Contain costs by utilizing warranty and evaluating service and parts options.
  • Maintain accurate engine and vessel records, including documentation of service and repairs.
  • Communicate effectively with customers on-site in a professional manner.
  • Accept ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring value-add opportunities.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
  • Complete work logs in a timely manner with relevant information.
Requirements
  • Above-average laptop/PC skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to visually diagnose mechanical issues.
  • Ability to read service and repair manuals, operating instructions, and work orders.
  • Ability to perform repairs in a timely fashion.
  • Fluent with electrical multi-meters.
  • Thorough understanding of diesel engine electronic controls.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, with proven ability to clearly communicate with technical support, sales, and management.
  • Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team.
  • 2+ years of experience.
  • MTU experience is a plus.
  • Volvo Penta experience is a plus.
  • Detroit Diesel experience is a plus.
  • Gas and diesel I/O experience is a plus.
  • Washington State Boaters Card is a plus.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of $50.00 per hour, with an additional $1.50 per hour for field work. A sign-on bonus of $1000 is also available. Our benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as highly competitive PTO accrual and 10 paid holidays.
