Overview:
We are seeking qualified candidates for various marine engineering roles, both licensed and unlicensed. The primary responsibility will be to ensure the operational readiness of the vessel's engine room and associated equipment, delivering essential services to our clients as required.

Key Responsibilities:
The duties of this position encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Engine Room Operations:
    Conduct preventive maintenance and repairs on main engines, gears, pumps, motors, plumbing, deck machinery, and auxiliary generator units. Regularly perform maintenance tasks on tugs and barges as necessary.
  • Maintenance Logging:
    Document all maintenance and repairs using an electronic tracking system. Monitor and record the operational status of engine room equipment, maintaining daily, weekly, and monthly logs with accurate readings.
  • Cleanliness and Readiness:
    Ensure the engine room is kept clean and operational at all times, including maintaining bilges and other critical areas.
  • Fuel Management:
    Carry out fuel transfers and ensure compliance with all paperwork requirements.

Additional Responsibilities:
Assist with loading supplies, perform general cleanup of vessels, and operate firefighting and lifesaving equipment as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of a valid TWIC and STCW endorsement on MMC.
  • A minimum of two years of experience working with marine diesel engines.
  • Ability to follow specific instructions from the Captain or supervisor and work independently.
  • Understanding of safety protocols, injury prevention, and firefighting techniques.
  • Valid State Driver's License and current first aid/CPR certification.
  • Completion of HAZWOPER training within the first month of employment.

Work Environment:
Employees will be exposed to various weather conditions and may need to work at heights.

Work Schedule:
This position involves a rotational watch system, requiring 12-hour shifts within a 24-hour period, with equal time rotation.
