Position Summary: We are seeking a Journey Level Marine Technician to support our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections and diagnostic tests to assess unit condition and identify deficiencies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical issues.
  • Verify performance through sea trials and make necessary adjustments.
  • Manage costs by utilizing warranties and evaluating service and parts options.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of service and repairs for engines and vessels.
  • Communicate professionally with clients while on-site.
  • Take ownership of new requests and explore opportunities for added value.
  • Ensure a safe and organized work environment.
  • Complete work logs promptly with all relevant information.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in using laptops and PCs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to visually diagnose mechanical issues.
  • Familiarity with service and repair manuals, operating instructions, and work orders.
  • Ability to perform repairs efficiently.
  • Fluency with electrical multi-meters.
  • Comprehensive understanding of diesel engine electronic controls.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with MTU, Volvo Penta, or Detroit Diesel engines.
  • Experience with gas and diesel inboard and outboard engines.
  • Possession of a Washington State Boaters Card.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; technical schooling is a plus.

Additional Requirements:

  • Own set of mechanics tools (metric and SAE).
  • Maintain a clean and organized work vehicle.
  • Complete company-provided manufacturer training.
  • Ability to operate a company vehicle.
