Position Summary: We are seeking a Journey Level Marine Technician to enhance our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess the condition of marine units through inspections and diagnostic evaluations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical issues.
  • Conduct sea trials to verify performance and implement necessary adjustments.
  • Manage costs effectively by utilizing warranties and evaluating service options.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of engine and vessel services and repairs.
  • Engage professionally with clients on-site.
  • Take initiative in fulfilling diverse requests and seek opportunities for added value.
  • Ensure a safe and organized work environment.
  • Complete work logs promptly with all pertinent information.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in laptop and PC operations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to visually diagnose mechanical problems.
  • Familiarity with service manuals and operational guidelines.
  • Timely execution of repairs.
  • Experience with electrical multi-meters.
  • In-depth knowledge of diesel engine electronic controls.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with MTU, Volvo Penta, or Detroit Diesel engines.
  • Gas and diesel inboard/outboard experience.
  • Possession of a Washington State Boater's Card.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; technical education is advantageous.

Performance Metrics:

  • Safety standards adherence.
  • Efficiency in service delivery.
  • Customer satisfaction ratings.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ownership of a complete set of mechanic's tools (metric and SAE).
  • Maintain a clean and organized service vehicle.
  • Complete company-sponsored training programs.
  • Ability to operate a company vehicle.
