Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Engineer to join our team at Centerline Logistics Corporation. As a Marine Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining the vessel's engine room and equipment in a state of readiness to perform work for customers as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engine Room Operations: Perform routine periodic maintenance on main engines and gears, pumps, motors, plumbing, deck machinery, and auxiliary generator units.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Conduct preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the vessel's engine room and equipment are in good working condition.
  • Log Maintenance and Repairs: Log all maintenance and repairs in an electronic maintenance tracking program.
  • Monitor and Record Equipment Condition: Monitor and record the operating condition of engine room equipment.
  • Keep Engine Room Clean and Ready: Maintain the engine room in a clean and ready state at all times.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Assist in Loading Supplies: Assist in loading supplies as needed.
  • General Cleanup: Perform general cleanup tasks on tugs and barges.
  • Operate Firefighting and Lifesaving Equipment: Operate all firefighting and lifesaving equipment aboard.
Qualifications
  • Valid TWIC: Possess a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
  • Valid STCW Endorsement: Hold a valid STCW endorsement on the Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC).
  • Marine Diesel Experience: Have at least two years of previous work experience on marine diesels.
  • Communication and Problem-Solving Skills: Possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to Work Independently: Be able to work independently and without direct supervision.
Working Conditions and Environment
  • Exposure to Weather Conditions: Be exposed to all weather conditions, including rain, ice, snow, heat, wind, and heavy seas.
  • Work at Heights: Be able to work at heights as necessary.
