Senior Medical Executive

The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) at East Liberty Family Health Care Center (ELFHCC) is instrumental in directing the medical and clinical functions of the organization. This leadership role is responsible for establishing and refining best practices to ensure high-quality care, educating clinical personnel on enhancing their practices, and implementing measures for quality improvement.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Business or Health Care Administration is preferred.
- MD/DO is required.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in medical practice is essential.
- Effective communication skills with the medical community, administrative staff, and employees are necessary.
- Self-driven with the ability to work autonomously and exercise independent judgment.
- Capability to assess situations, respond appropriately, and make independent decisions while initiating and implementing policies and procedures.
- Exceptional organizational and documentation skills are required.
- Strong verbal, written, and listening communication skills are essential.
- Ability to perform complex and varied tasks requiring independent knowledge and application of that knowledge to diverse situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a key member of the ELFHCC Executive Leadership Team, acting as a liaison between administration and medical staff to foster a positive and progressive environment.
- Design and implement clinical protocols and standards aimed at maintaining and enhancing the quality of care.
- Provide leadership and oversight for all clinical personnel, ensuring the delivery of patient-centered, high-quality care.
- Encourage a collaborative and positive work atmosphere for healthcare providers.
- Contribute to the development and execution of strategic plans that align with the mission and goals of ELFHCC.
- Identify opportunities for service expansion and enhancement of healthcare delivery.
- Oversee initiatives aimed at quality improvement to boost clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.
- Monitor and assess clinical practices to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, particularly those relevant to Federally Qualified Health Centers.
- Stay updated on changes in healthcare regulations and adjust policies and procedures as necessary.
- Collaborate with other executives and departments to ensure cohesive operations throughout the organization.
- Effectively communicate with internal staff, external partners, and regulatory bodies.
Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the CEO.
Critical Skills/Requirements
Physical Demands: The role involves working in a dynamic office and community environment, necessitating local travel. Physical demands may include prolonged periods of sitting or standing and frequent phone use. Lifting and carrying of medical equipment and supplies (5-10 lbs.) may be required.
Compensation: Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
