Alliance of Hazardous Materials Professionals is looking for a dedicated Geotechnical Environmental Specialist to enhance our dynamic environmental team. The ideal candidate will work alongside a diverse group of engineers, scientists, and project managers to deliver comprehensive observation, testing services, data analysis, documentation, technical report generation, and cost estimation for various environmental and geotechnical projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct sampling and monitoring of soil, groundwater, surface water, and air using calibrated instruments.
  • Provide detailed descriptions and logging of soil and rock samples during drilling operations.
  • Observe and document construction activities related to various well types to ensure adherence to technical specifications.
  • Complete daily field reports and summaries to accurately reflect ongoing work.
  • Perform Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments and prepare associated reports.
  • Evaluate and manage extensive laboratory data sets.
  • Design and oversee well networks across diverse geological environments.
  • Assist other departments within the organization with data collection and processing tasks.
  • Prepare cost estimates and proposal documentation as required.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet project deliverables and enhance professional knowledge.
  • Maintain effective communication with key stakeholders, including project managers and engineers.
  • Proactively identify and address non-routine conditions and problems, developing solutions as necessary.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant field.
  • 0-10+ years of experience in a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with ArcGIS and/or AutoCAD is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to conduct independent fieldwork and reporting.
  • OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER, MSHA Surface Mining, and/or Safeland training preferred.
  • Self-motivated with excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Willingness to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Valid driver's license in good standing is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • G.I.T/E.I.T or P.G./P.E. certification, or the potential to obtain such certifications while employed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 30-50 pounds regularly.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various climates and conditions.
  • Capability to walk and stand for extended periods, often on uneven surfaces, with frequent bending and stooping.
