Geotechnical Environmental Specialist

ARM Group LLC is in search of an Environmental Geologist to enhance our dynamic environmental services. The ideal candidate will work closely with a diverse team of engineers, scientists, project managers, and other professionals to deliver a comprehensive range of observation, testing services, data analysis, documentation, technical report writing, and preparation of cost estimates and proposals for various geotechnical and environmental projects catering to a wide array of clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct sampling and monitoring of soil, groundwater, surface water, and air using calibrated instruments.
  • Provide detailed descriptions and logging of soil and rock cuttings and cores during drilling operations.
  • Monitor and document construction activities related to various well types to ensure adherence to technical specifications.
  • Compile daily field reports and test summaries to accurately reflect the work performed.
  • Execute Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments and generate subsequent reports.
  • Analyze and manage extensive laboratory data efficiently.
  • Design and oversee well networks across diverse geological settings.
  • Assist other ARM Group divisions as required for data collection and processing tasks.
  • Prepare cost estimates and proposal documentation as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet project deliverables and expand knowledge and experience.
  • Communicate effectively with key stakeholders, including project managers and engineers.
  • Proactively identify non-routine conditions and challenges, develop solutions, and seek guidance when necessary.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 0-10+ years of experience in a related discipline.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with ArcGIS and/or AutoCAD is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to perform independent fieldwork and reporting.
  • OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER, MSHA Surface Mining, and/or Safeland training preferred.
  • A self-motivated individual with excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to manage multiple projects simultaneously rather than focusing on a single large project.
  • Ability to travel to job sites, including occasional overnight stays outside the local area.
  • Valid driver's license in good standing is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • G.I.T/E.I.T or P.G./P.E. certification, or the potential to obtain such certifications while employed at ARM Group.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 30-50 pounds regularly.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various climates and conditions.
  • Capability to walk and stand for extended periods, often on uneven surfaces, with frequent bending and stooping.
