Job SummaryWe're seeking a skilled Maitre D' to join our team. As a Maitre D', you'll be the first and last impression of our restaurant, ensuring that every guest has an exceptional experience. You'll be responsible for welcoming and bidding farewell to guests, escorting them to and from tables, and controlling the flow of traffic based on occupancy.
Key Responsibilities- Welcome and bid farewell to all guests, making them feel valued and appreciated.
- Escort guests to and from tables, ensuring a seamless dining experience.
- Control the flow of traffic based on occupancy, maintaining a smooth and efficient service.
- Be familiar with all aspects of daily restaurant operations, including food, wine, reservation operations, and service techniques.
- Make and coordinate reservations for guests, logging entries of arrival times and dates.
- Greet all guests, seat them according to their preferences, and ensure a server is present to take their order.
- Coordinate between all restaurant staff, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Look into any complaints guests may have, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
- During special events, accept payments from guests, calculate the correct bill amount, and use proper credit card and money handling skills.
- Check-in with guests to see if they've enjoyed their meal and service.
- Assist guests in exiting the restaurant, coordinating with the valet for the return of any vehicles (if necessary).
- Act as an advocate for the restaurant, creating ridiculously personal experiences and developing relationships with guests that will compel them to return.
- Previous customer service or hospitality experience is preferred.
- Able to prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Able to learn, retain, and present product, menu, and allergy information to guests.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn the restaurant point-of-sale system and reservation system.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient basic mathematical skills and ability to utilize these operations using units of American money.
- Ability to work independently and lead projects effectively.
- Food Handler Certification (if applicable).
- Flexible schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed.
