We are seeking a highly skilled and charismatic individual to join our team as a Maitre D' at one of our esteemed restaurants. Key Responsibilities- Welcome and bid farewell to all guests, setting the tone for an exceptional dining experience.
- Escort guests to and from tables, expertly managing the flow of traffic to ensure a smooth and efficient service.
- Be familiar with all aspects of daily restaurant operations, including food, wine, reservation systems, and service techniques.
- Make and coordinate reservations for guests, logging entries of arrival times and dates.
- Greet all guests, seat them according to their preferences, and ensure a server is present to take their order.
- Coordinate between all restaurant staff to ensure everything runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Look into any guest complaints, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
- During special events, accept payments from guests, calculate the correct bill amount, and utilize proper credit card and money handling skills.
- Check-in with guests to ensure they have enjoyed their meal and service.
- Assist guests in exiting the restaurant, coordinating with the valet for the return of any vehicles (if necessary).
- Act as an advocate for the restaurant, creating ridiculously personal experiences and developing relationships with guests that will compel them to return.
- Previous customer service or hospitality experience is preferred.
- Able to prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Able to learn, retain, and present product, menu, and allergy information to guests.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn the restaurant point-of-sale system and reservation system.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient basic mathematical skills and ability to utilize these operations using units of American money.
- Ability to work independently and lead projects effectively.
- Food Handler Certification (if applicable).
- Flexible schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed.
