Director of Philanthropic Development and Partnerships

Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco, a renowned youth development organization, seeks a seasoned professional to lead its major gifts and donor relations efforts.
The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in fundraising, with a minimum of 7 years of experience in major/leadership gift solicitation. They will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive strategy to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward renewal, upgrade, lapsed, and acquisition gifts from individual and institutional funders.
This role requires a highly motivated and organized individual with exceptional presentation skills, the ability to engage diverse constituencies, and a keen sense of excitement and curiosity for prospects and donors. The successful candidate will be able to articulate the organization's story and impact compellingly, demonstrate a deep understanding of BGCSF's traditions, programs, needs, and priorities, and apply this knowledge to develop persuasive strategies for joint solicitation.
The estimated salary range for this role is $125,000 to $140,000, taking into account various factors considered in making compensation decisions. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a cohesive strategy to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward renewal, upgrade, lapsed, and acquisition gifts for individual and institutional funders
- Identify and manage a portfolio of major gift prospects, focusing on prospects rated at $10,000 and above
- Conduct donor visits regularly with a goal of 100 inspiring, memorable, and meaningful visits per year
- Collaborate with the Senior VP of Development to develop an annual calendar of donor cultivation events
- Demonstrate a keen sense of excitement and curiosity for prospects and donors
- Create a moves management system and oversee its implementation
- Oversee Database Management through supervision of the Database Manager
Requirements:
- At least 7 years in fundraising with a minimum of 3 years in major/leadership gift solicitation
- Highly motivated, well-organized professional with a progressive record of achievement in frontline fundraising
- Proven record in identifying, cultivating, and directly soliciting major gifts
- Innovative, creative, strategic, and analytical thinker with superior presentation skills
- Ability to engage effectively with diverse constituencies including donors, Board members, and leadership staff
- Ability to work nights, early mornings, and weekends as needed for events and meetings
- High level of tact and diplomacy to work well with donors, trustees, volunteers, and staff
- Excellent listening and communication skills
- Ability to work cooperatively with others to enhance organizational effectiveness
