a Power Analyst focused on Forward Hedging & Risk Management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of power and gas markets in ERCOT, analyzing supply-demand trends, pricing fluctuations, regulatory developments, and technological advancements.
  • Design and implement pricing methodologies and models for effective hedging strategies in ERCOT.
  • Collaborate in establishing TotalEnergies' hedging framework, setting appropriate limits and targets to mitigate financial exposure.
  • Develop and execute mid-term hedging plans that integrate both power and gas, aligning with market conditions and corporate objectives.
  • Work in tandem with TotalEnergies Energy Management partners and Power Trading teams to synchronize short-term actions with mid-term hedging strategies.
  • Monitor portfolio optimization and evaluate the performance of energy management partners closely.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of experience in power markets, preferably with a background in trading operations. Familiarity with forward hedging and risk management is essential.
    Knowledge of the ERCOT market is mandatory.
  • Profound understanding of the energy sector, including power market frameworks and trading dynamics.
  • Experience with CCGT power facilities is advantageous, while familiarity with other power generation or storage technologies is also beneficial.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-pressure environment while benefiting from a collaborative team atmosphere.
  • Excellent communication skills with the capacity to engage effectively across diverse teams.
