Key Responsibilities

As a Middle Office Analyst, your responsibilities will include:

Overseeing Middle Office functions for designated Crude and Refined Products portfolios:
  • Managing daily and monthly profit and loss reporting.
  • Ensuring accuracy and reasonableness in daily trade entries and modifications, particularly those affecting price exposure.
  • Monitoring and reporting daily pricing for physical transactions, as well as assessing physical and paper positions against authorized risk limits.
  • Analyzing and reconciling hedge instruments, including NYMEX and ICE executions, clear swaps, OTC forwards, swaps, and options. Preparing reports for approval by the Trading Desk Manager and Managing Director.
  • Providing statistical analyses and trade insights to support Trading Desks and Management.
  • Collaborating with Operations teams to ensure the accuracy of risk and profit-related data.
  • Reconciling monthly results.
DIMENSIONS
  • The role reports to the Middle Office Manager and functionally to the Head of Middle Office Crude & Products.
  • Responsible for risk control and analysis related to US trading and marketing operations.
  • Engaged in activities supporting TotalEnergies' North American refining supply and production, as well as international trading and marketing.
  • Involvement in pipeline, vessel, storage, and paper execution activities.
Context & Environment
  • Engaging in internal coordination across various departments (Trading, Treasury, Credit, Trading Operations, Financial Control, Accounting, Shipping, Vetting, Demurrage).
  • The role requires continuous engagement throughout the year.
PURPOSES
  • To monitor and verify all daily physical and paper activities.
  • To confirm all trading positions and risk exposures, ensuring compliance with authorized limits.
  • To accurately report daily profit and loss results.
