Candidate Profile

The Integrated Power Business Unit within the Gas Renewables & Power Branch is seeking a Power Analyst - Forward Hedging & Risk Management. This role is pivotal in enhancing your career trajectory.

As part of your responsibilities, you will:

• Perform comprehensive evaluations of power and gas markets in ERCOT, focusing on supply-demand interactions, pricing trends, regulatory shifts, and technological advancements.

• Create methodologies and pricing frameworks for hedging strategies in ERCOT.

• Contribute to the formulation of TotalEnergies' hedging approach, establishing suitable limits and objectives to mitigate financial exposure.

• Design and implement mid-term hedging plans that integrate both power and gas, aligning with market prospects and corporate objectives.

• Collaborate closely with TotalEnergies Energy Management partners and Power Trading teams to synchronize short-term actions with mid-term hedging initiatives.

• Vigilantly oversee the optimization of the portfolio and the performance metrics of energy management partners.

Required Qualifications

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

• 3-5 years of experience in power markets, preferably with a background in trading operations. A solid understanding of forward hedging and risk management is essential. Knowledge of the ERCOT market is mandatory.

• A thorough comprehension of the energy sector, power market frameworks, and energy trading mechanisms.

• Experience with CCGT power facilities is advantageous, though familiarity with other power generation or storage assets is also valuable.

• Exceptional analytical and quantitative capabilities.

• Ability to thrive in a dynamic and high-pressure environment while benefiting from a collaborative team culture.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively across diverse teams.
