Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • 5-7 years of experience in energy markets and trading, with a solid foundation in forward hedging and risk management, specifically with CCGT asset optimization.
  • Thorough knowledge of the energy sector, power market frameworks - particularly ERCOT, and energy trading mechanisms.
  • Ability to excel in a dynamic and high-pressure environment, while enjoying the support of a collaborative team. Strong interpersonal skills and capacity to work efficiently across various teams.
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative abilities.
  • Demonstrated success in trading and strategy execution in fluctuating market conditions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive analyses of power and gas markets within ERCOT, focusing on supply-demand dynamics, pricing trends, regulatory shifts, and technological advancements.
  • Develop methodologies and pricing models for effective hedging in ERCOT.
  • Contribute to the formulation of TotalEnergies' hedging strategy, establishing appropriate limits and targets to mitigate financial risks.
  • Design and implement mid-term hedging strategies for both power and gas, aligning with market opportunities and corporate objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with TotalEnergies Energy Management partners and Power Trading teams to synchronize short-term actions with mid-term hedging plans.
  • Continuously monitor portfolio optimization and the performance of energy management partners.
  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory standards and internal risk management policies.
  • Track the financial risks associated with the forward portfolio, utilizing robust risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
