Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive analysis of power and gas markets in ERCOT, focusing on supply-demand dynamics, pricing trends, regulatory developments, and technological advancements.
  • Create methodologies and pricing models for hedging strategies in ERCOT.
  • Contribute to the formulation of TotalEnergies' hedging strategy, establishing appropriate limits and targets to mitigate financial risks.
  • Develop and implement mid-term hedging strategies for both power and gas, aligned with market opportunities and corporate objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with TotalEnergies Energy Management partners and Power Trading desks to synchronize short-term actions with mid-term hedging strategies.
  • Monitor the optimization of the portfolio and the performance of energy management partners.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of experience in power markets, preferably in a trading environment, with a solid understanding of forward hedging and risk management.
    Knowledge of the ERCOT market is essential.
  • In-depth understanding of the energy sector, power market frameworks, and energy trading dynamics.
  • Experience with CCGT power plants is advantageous, while familiarity with other power generation or storage assets is also beneficial.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while benefiting from a supportive team culture.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.

We are looking for a Power Analyst with a profound understanding of energy management, forward hedging, and risk management.

This role is pivotal in defining and executing hedging strategies to manage the financial risks associated with our forward portfolio and overseeing the energy management contracts of our assets.
