Key Responsibilities

As a Middle Office Analyst, your key responsibilities will include:

Oversight of Middle Office operations for designated Crude and Refined Products portfolios:
  • Manage daily and monthly profit and loss reporting.
  • Ensure accuracy and reasonableness in daily trade entries and modifications, particularly those affecting price exposure.
  • Monitor and report daily pricing for physical purchase and sale activities, as well as assess physical and paper positions against authorized risk limits.
  • Analyze, reconcile, and manage hedge instruments, including executions on NYMEX and ICE, clear swaps, OTC forwards, swaps, and options. Prepare reports for approval by the Trading Desk Manager and Managing Director regarding authorized daily trading limits.
  • Provide analytical support and statistical results to Trading Desks and Management.
  • Collaborate with Operations teams to ensure that all risk and profit-related data is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of results.
DIMENSIONS
  • This position reports to the Middle Office Manager and functionally to the Head of Middle Office Crude & Products.
  • Responsible for risk control and analysis related to US trading and marketing activities.
  • The role supports TotalEnergies' North American refining supply and production, as well as international trading and marketing.
  • Activities include oversight of pipelines, vessels, storage, and paper executions.
Work Environment
  • Facilitate internal coordination among various departments (Trading, Treasury, Credit, Trading Operations, Financial Control, Accounting, Shipping, Vetting, Demurrage).
  • The position requires continuous engagement throughout the year.
OBJECTIVES
  • Monitor and verify all daily physical and paper trading activities.
  • Confirm all trading positions and risk exposures are within authorized limits.
  • Report accurate daily profit and loss results.
