Become an integral part of a leading organization dedicated to fire safety and protection. Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Inspector to enhance our operations.

This position involves performing inspections on sprinkler systems within various structures, which includes evaluating devices, documenting findings, and preparing detailed reports. The role requires collaboration with the Lead Inspector and/or Inspection Manager to collect data and produce essential documentation such as Sprinkler Inspection Reports, Quick Reports, and Inspection Certificates.

Compensation: $45.00/hr-$55.00/hr

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections promptly and thoroughly.
  • Examine building sprinkler control panels, devices, and systems, and record test results accurately.
  • Compile inspection data and finalize Sprinkler Inspection Reports.
  • Participate in regular team discussions.
  • Execute additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications:

  • A College Degree is preferred; however, a High School diploma or equivalent with relevant experience is acceptable.
  • Knowledge of NFPA standards for fire protection systems inspection and testing is essential. Stay informed about code regulations and industry advancements, and pursue NICET certifications.
  • Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on customer service.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Experience with sprinkler systems is advantageous.
  • Proficient in using various testing equipment and computer applications, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Palm unit operating systems.
  • Possess reliable transportation, as punctuality is critical for conducting tests before tenant arrivals.

Additional Duties:

  • Adhere to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.
  • Perform any other responsibilities as directed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Work in diverse environments, including industrial, commercial, and residential settings, with varying noise levels and heights.
  • This role is physically demanding, requiring standing, climbing stairs, and using ladders.
  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds may be necessary.
  • Engage in regular phone and computer usage throughout the workday.
