Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is looking for a Fire Sprinkler Inspector to join our dedicated team.

This role involves conducting thorough inspections of building sprinkler systems, which includes testing devices, documenting results, and generating comprehensive reports. Responsibilities include supporting the Lead Inspector and/or Inspection Manager in gathering data and preparing necessary documentation such as Sprinkler Inspection Reports, Quick Reports, and Inspection Certificates.

Compensation: $45.00/hr-$55.00/hr

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all inspections.
  • Test all building sprinkler control panels, devices, and system functions, recording results on a handheld device.
  • After inspections, download data and produce a finalized Sprinkler Inspection Report.
  • Engage in monthly team meetings.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by management.

Qualifications:

  • A college degree is preferred; however, a high school diploma or equivalent with relevant experience is acceptable.
  • Familiarity with NFPA standards for fire protection system inspection and testing is essential. Stay updated with code requirements and industry developments, and pursue NICET certifications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, along with a customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Previous experience with sprinkler systems is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in using testing equipment, including sensitivity testers, multi-meters, battery analyzers, sound level meters, and communication devices.
  • Good networking skills with PCs, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Palm unit operating systems.
  • Reliable transportation to and from job sites is necessary.
  • Punctuality is crucial due to the need for pre-tenant sound tests.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.
  • Complete other assigned duties as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Work in industrial, commercial, and residential environments with moderate to high noise levels, and be comfortable working at heights.
  • This role is physically demanding, requiring standing, walking, climbing stairs, and using ladders.
  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Consistent use of phone and computer throughout the day.
