Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is in search of a Fire Sprinkler Inspector to join our dynamic team.
This role entails conducting comprehensive inspections of building sprinkler systems, which includes testing various devices, documenting findings, and generating detailed reports. Responsibilities encompass assisting the Lead Inspector and/or Inspection Manager in gathering essential data and preparing necessary documentation such as Sprinkler Inspection Reports, Quick Reports, and Inspection Certificates.
Compensation: $45.00/hr-$55.00/hr
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely completion of all inspections, maintaining accuracy and thoroughness.
- Conduct tests on all building sprinkler control panels, devices, and system functions, recording results using a handheld device.
- Upon finishing an inspection, download data and produce a finalized Sprinkler Inspection Report.
- Engage in monthly team meetings to discuss progress and updates.
- Execute additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- A college degree is preferred; however, a high school diploma or equivalent experience is acceptable.
- Familiarity with NFPA standards for fire protection system inspection and testing is essential. Stay updated with code requirements and industry developments, and pursue NICET certifications.
- Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Previous experience with sprinklers is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Proficient in using testing equipment, including sensitivity testers, multi-meters, battery analyzers, sound level meters, and communication devices.
- Good networking skills with PC applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and familiarity with Palm unit operating systems.
- Reliable transportation is necessary for commuting to job sites.
- Punctuality is crucial, especially for conducting sound tests before tenant arrivals.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Comply with the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.
- Perform other assigned duties as needed.
Physical Demands:
- Work in industrial, commercial, and residential environments with moderate to high noise levels, and be comfortable working at heights.
- This role is physically demanding, requiring standing, walking, climbing stairs, and using ladders.
- Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to remain on the phone and computer consistently throughout the workday.
