Fire Protection System Inspector

Become an integral part of a leading firm dedicated to fire safety and protection. Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Inspector to enhance our operational team.
This position focuses on performing comprehensive inspections of fire sprinkler systems, which involves testing equipment, documenting findings, and preparing detailed reports. The role includes assisting the Lead Inspector and/or Inspection Manager by collecting essential data and generating necessary documentation such as Sprinkler Inspection Reports, Quick Reports, and Inspection Certificates.
Compensation: $45.00/hr-$55.00/hr
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete all inspections in a timely and thorough manner.
- Conduct tests on building sprinkler control panels, devices, and systems, recording results accurately.
- Download inspection data and finalize Sprinkler Inspection Reports.
- Participate in regular team meetings to discuss progress and updates.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Education/Qualifications:
- A College Degree is preferred; however, a High School diploma or equivalent with relevant experience is acceptable.
- Knowledge of NFPA standards for fire protection systems inspection and testing is essential. Stay updated with code regulations and industry advancements, and obtain NICET certifications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on customer service.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Experience with sprinkler systems is advantageous.
- Proficient in using various testing equipment and software applications, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Palm unit operating systems.
- Must have reliable transportation; punctuality is vital for conducting tests.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Adhere to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.
- Carry out any other duties as directed.
Physical Demands:
- Work in diverse environments, including industrial, commercial, and residential settings, with varying noise levels and heights.
- This role is physically demanding, requiring standing, climbing stairs, and using ladders.
- Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds may be necessary.
- Engage in regular phone and computer use throughout the workday.
