Position Overview

Role Summary

With limited supervision, the Agricultural Relationship Manager will be responsible for developing, managing, and overseeing a portfolio of dairy, crop, and agribusiness client relationships within our designated market. While the primary focus will be on agricultural clients, the acquisition of new agribusiness, commercial, and commercial real estate client relationships is also encouraged.

The Ag Relationship Manager will engage with clients utilizing various financial services offered by State Bank Financial, including Credit, Treasury Management, Investments, Insurance, Merchant Processing, Retail Banking, Concierge Banking, and Card products.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Drive loan growth through the acquisition of new clients, management of the customer portfolio, and other strategies to enhance market share while retaining existing clients.
  2. Ensure compliance with the bank's credit policies, procedures, and business strategies, as well as regulatory guidelines for portfolio administration and risk management.
  3. Evaluate client applications to identify credit needs, analyze financial data for credit requests, and present recommendations for suitable financial structures through the bank's loan approval process.
  4. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of FSA and USDA programs and services.
  5. Foster relationships with local FSA offices.
  6. Utilize government programs as necessary to meet customer requirements and bank underwriting standards.
  7. Actively engage in business development initiatives to attract additional profitable business for the bank.
  8. Enhance the bank's visibility and create new business opportunities through professional community relations, while also pursuing personal development.
Additional Responsibilities
  1. Participate in bank committees as required.
  2. Continuously update knowledge and develop professionally through internal and external training opportunities.
  3. Perform other job-related duties as necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of this position.
Qualifications
  1. A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
  2. Previous experience in banking, agriculture, and/or sales is highly desirable.
  3. A foundational knowledge of agriculture and a general understanding of agricultural lending is preferred.
  4. Basic computer and technical skills are necessary.
  5. Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding customer and bank information.
  6. Capacity to manage time pressures and stress that may vary throughout the day.

Working Environment

The Agricultural Relationship Manager will engage in travel for farm visits while also working in an office setting. Work hours may vary, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate customer needs. The role involves regular mental and visual concentration for computer use and the assimilation of complex information. The position requires a valid driver's license and the ability to travel independently.

Equipment Utilization

The role involves operating a personal computer in a Windows environment for tasks such as word processing, spreadsheets, email, internet/intranet, and other bank-specific software.
